Storyline : Sivaji recounts his time spent behind bars as well as what caused police scrutiny of him and subsequent arrest for various economic offenses. After returning home from living in America for several months, he had returned to Chennai intending to live with his parents and maternal uncle and invest his funds in colleges and hospitals so as to benefit those less privileged than himself; but that plan came under threat when Adisheshan threatened him and asked that his money not be invested therein. Sivaji attempts to launch his projects but soon encounters bureaucratic corruption and red-tape, prompting him to give in and pay bribes of Rs.4 Crores in order to complete a Rs.200 Crore project. Adisheshan orders his local politician to stop, yet Sivaji bribes him with Rs 50 Crores by liquidating most of their assets. While Sivaji Ramlingam attempts to win Tamizhselvi/Vidyabharti Ramlingam over, another politician assumes power and requests an additional Rs 50 Crore. Unable to come up with this amount himself, Sivaji takes matters to court but fails miserably; eventually becoming penniless. Tamizhselvi refuses to marry him due to their incompatibilities on an astrological level and when recalling these incidents and feeling betrayed by those he trusted most he can only accept what his opponents have decided for him.
