Storyline : After the Bakumatsu War ends in 1868, former assassin Kenshin Himura vows to defend those in need without killing. Wandering across Japan while wielding his reverse-edged sword during its transition into modernity is Kenshin Himura's mission. Kenshin helps defend Kaoru Kamiya against Kanryuu Takeda's powerful drug cartel which wants her school for production of opium and invites Kenshin to stay. But when drug chemist Megumi Takani escapes Kanryuu and seeks refuge with Kaoru while Battosai murders police officers with hidden messages attached. When Kanryuu uses poison gas against civilians to gain his desired school location, Kenshin and street fighter Sanosuke Sagara join forces against their common enemy to go into battle together against their common foe.
