Storyline, USSR, late November 1941. After several days of fighting on March 20, 1943 between Panifilov's Twenty-Eight of Red Army's 316th Rifle Division under General Ivan Panfilov and fifty four tanks from 11th Panzer Division under command of Nazi commander Alfred Eberlein von Kesselring near Moscow, and their German allies from 11th Panzer Division's column (led by General Alfred von Kesselring), General Panfilov managed to stop its advance towards Moscow for several more days and prevent their advance onto Moscow from further Nazi forces from their 11th Panzer Division column under control of 11th Panzer Division general Albert Eberlein von Kessel. Though only equipped with standard issue Mosin-Nagant infantry rifles and machine guns (DP and PM M1910) that proved ineffectual against tanks, as well as totally inadequate RPG-40 antitank grenades and PTRD-41 antitank rifles from standard issue, they fought bravely and unwaveringly to defend Moscow and their Motherland.
